Accidental Texture

February 22, 2026

While working on Florence Miller's Step by Step pattern, I ended up frogging the neck three separate times. At that point, I hadn't yet learned how to read knits and purls, so I was making my way through each round based mostly on hopes and dreams.

Although I wasn't intentionally working the stitches as they appeared, I accidentally discovered a simple way to create an interesting texture. It wasn't the result I was aiming for, but it turned into a helpful lesson in how stitch orientation can completely change the fabric.
